The BEML BD80 crawler dozer is powered by the BS6D125-1 direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine. It is designed for heavy dozer work with a wet hydraulically boosted main clutch, direct-drive constant-mesh transmission, semi-rigid undercarriage, 3.55 m³ angle blade and 21,550 kg operating mass with angle dozer.
Detailed technical specifications for BEML BD80 Crawler Dozer
Daily pre-start checks · hour-based service schedule · warning actions · fluids and lubricants.
Complete before every shift in dusty, hot or high-impact operating conditions.
Park level; after a 15-minute shutdown check crankcase oil. When cold, check the 65 L cooling system, hoses, radiator and pump.
Act if: either level is low, contaminated or leaking. Do not start until corrected.
Check the 385 L fuel tank, dust indicator, pre-cleaner bowl, intake hoses, exhaust and turbocharger.
Act if: fuel is contaminated, the indicator is red, or exhaust/turbo leaks or unusual noise are present.
With blade lowered, check hydraulic sight glass, transmission, main-clutch and both final-drive oil levels.
Act if: any level is low, hydraulic oil is milky or a leak is visible.
Inspect both batteries and 24 V connections; verify gauges, warning lamps, tachometer, hour meter and display self-test.
Act if: battery damage is present or oil-pressure/high-temperature warnings remain on.
Test smooth clutch engagement/disengagement, inertia brake and all 5 forward/4 reverse selections.
Act if: the clutch slips, the lever is heavy, or gears grind or fail to engage.
Test both steering clutches and both contracting-band steering brakes for equal response.
Act if: steering is unequal, brakes are spongy or pedal travel is excessive. Do not operate on slopes.
Check track sag, 560 mm shoes, grousers, links and shoe bolts on both sides.
Act if: sag is excessive, links are cracked, hardware is loose or grousers are missing.
Inspect track/carrier rollers, idlers, sprockets and floating seals for wear, seizure or leakage.
Act if: a seal leaks, a roller is seized or an idler/sprocket is damaged.
Inspect both lift cylinders, pins, bushes, blade structure, cutting edge and bolts; check for cylinder drift.
Act if: rods are scored, seals leak, the blade drifts or the edge is worn to base metal.
Walk around for fluid puddles, frame cracks and loose guards; test lamps and keep the work area clear.
Act if: an active leak, structural crack, loose cover or unsafe site condition is found.
Grease blade pivots, steering and clutch linkages, track adjuster and other accessible pins with lithium NLGI No. 2 grease.
Act if: nipples are dry or old grease does not purge—continue until fresh grease appears.
Select an interval and complete earlier recurring tasks where due.
Fuel sedimenter / water separator
Drain water and sediment.
Oil, coolant & air pre-cleaner
Check fluid condition and clean the pre-cleaner.
Transmission and final drives
Check oil levels on both sides.
Track bolts, rollers, hoses & guards
Inspect condition; grease steering linkage and all pivot points.
Engine oil/filter & fuel-filter element
Change oil and replace both filters.
Dust valve, fan belt, hoses & clamps
Clean the valve and inspect all listed items.
Transmission, main clutch & hydraulic oils
Change oils at the initial break-in service; otherwise follow the recurring schedule.
Idlers, linkages, batteries & alternator
Inspect; lubricate gear-shift linkage and grease pivots.
Oil/filter, fuel filter & outer air element
Change all listed items; clean radiator and inspect turbocharger.
Valve clearance
Check and adjust.
Steering discs, brake lining, recoil case & sprockets
Inspect wear and condition.
Hydraulic filter, hoses, cylinders & batteries
Replace filter and inspect remaining items.
Engine, transmission, main-clutch, final-drive & hydraulic oils
Renew all listed fluids and replace oil/fuel/hydraulic filters.
Radiator, air system, driveline and undercarriage
Clean intake/cooling items; inspect belts, hoses, discs, brake lining, recoil, sprockets and electrical system.
All oils and filters
Renew engine, transmission, clutch, final-drive and hydraulic oils; replace oil, fuel, outer/inner air and hydraulic filters.
Valve clearance, injection timing & complete machine
Check/adjust engine settings; inspect cooling, hoses, driveline, undercarriage, hydraulics, electricals, blade and guards.
Stop immediately for red alerts; resolve amber alerts before continuing heavy work.
Action: stop within 10 seconds. Check the 32 L crankcase, pump, cooler and filter; do not restart until pressure is verified.
Action: reduce load, idle for three minutes, shut down, then check coolant, radiator, fan belt, pump and thermostat.
Action: stop on level ground and do not operate on slopes. Check transmission/steering oil level and steering system.
Action: do not operate. Inspect brake-band lining, drum condition and pedal-linkage adjustment.
Action: stop dozing, lower the blade, idle for 10–15 minutes, then check oil level, filter and hose restrictions.
Action: stop work, empty the pre-cleaner and inspect or replace the outer element before restarting.
Action: stop travel, shift to neutral, idle for 10 minutes and check transmission oil and case airflow.
Action: adjust track tension and inspect recoil cases, link pitch, sprockets and shoe bolts.
Action: refuel the 385 L tank immediately and do not run dry.
Action: stop heavy dozing; check clutch-oil level and condition, disc wear and spring condition.
Use clean filling equipment and the correct grade for ambient conditions.
