Daily Pre-Start Checklist
Complete every check before each shift. The full walk-around normally takes 10–15 minutes.
Engine Oil Level
Wipe the dipstick, reinsert it fully and check again. Engine sump capacity is 21 L.
Act if: below MIN, top up before starting. Milky or foamy oil may indicate coolant contamination — stop and inspect.
Engine Coolant
Check the plastic reservoir on the engine side. Cooling-system capacity is 25.5 L.
Act if: below MIN, top up. Repeated loss requires inspection for leakage or an internal engine fault.
Hydraulic Oil
Fully retract the cylinders and check the tank sight glass. Capacity is 150 L in the tank and 260 L in the system.
Act if: below the visible range, top up. Milky oil indicates water ingress — stop operation and inspect.
Fuel Level
Check the SMART PLUS digital cluster. Fuel-tank capacity is 340 L.
Act if: below one-quarter tank, refuel before the shift. Never allow the tank to run dry.
Fuel Water Separator
Inspect the glass bowl at the base of the fuel pre-filter.
Act if: any water is visible, drain the separator completely before starting the engine.
Undercarriage & Tracks
Check track sag on both sides and inspect the 600 mm triple-grouser shoes, 49 per side, for cracks or missing bolts.
Act if: sag is excessive or a shoe is cracked or loose — adjust or repair before travel.
Boom, Arm & Bucket
Check the bucket link, H-link, pins, bushes and bucket teeth for play, cracks or damage.
Act if: pin movement is excessive or a tooth is cracked or missing — schedule repair before digging.
Lights, Horn & Alarm
Test all work and cabin lights, the horn and the reverse alarm.
Act if: any function fails, repair it before starting the shift.
Walk-Around Leak Check
Walk around the machine and inspect the ground, hoses, cylinders and swing device for drips.
Act if: an active oil leak is found, identify and repair the leak before operation.
Cabin & Seat Belt
Latch and pull-test the seat belt, then check the mirrors and cabin glass guard.
Act if: the belt is frayed or the buckle fails — replace it before operating.
Grease Pivot Points
Grease the boom, arm and bucket pins until old grease is visibly displaced at each joint.
Every 10 operating hours: continue greasing until fresh grease appears at every point.

Engine oil
Change 21 L, Cummins-spec 15W-40.
Engine oil filter
Install a genuine Hyundai filter.
Coolant and drive belt
Top up coolant as needed; inspect belt tension and wear.
Fuel filter
Install a genuine Hyundai filter.
Water separator and air pre-cleaner
Drain and inspect separator; clean and inspect pre-cleaner.
Hoses and cylinders
Inspect for cracks, bulges and oil weeping.
Track shoes, rollers, pins and bushes
Re-torque loose shoe bolts; inspect undercarriage and linkage wear.
Batteries
Inspect and test both 12 V, 100 Ah batteries.
Engine oil and oil filter
Change 21 L oil and replace filter.
Turbocharger and drive belt
Inspect shaft play, oil leakage, tension and wear.
Outer and inner air-filter elements
Replace both; never clean or reuse the inner safety element.
Hydraulic oil filter
Install a genuine Hyundai filter.
Hoses, cylinders and main control valve
Inspect leakage and test open-centre valve response.
Swing bearing
Re-grease the bearing.
Travel and swing motors
Test output and braking function.
Critical bolts and undercarriage
Re-torque major joints; inspect shoes, idlers, rollers, sprockets and pins.
Battery, alternator and starter
Inspect batteries and test charging and cranking output.
Engine oil and filter
Change 21 L oil and replace filter.
Engine coolant
Drain, flush and refill the 25.5 L system.
Drive belt, turbocharger and valve clearance
Replace a cracked or glazed belt; inspect turbo and check/adjust valve clearance.
Hydraulic oil filter
Replace and inspect hoses, cylinders and main control valve.
Fuel and air filters
Replace the fuel, outer-air and inner safety elements.
Swing device oil
Change 5 L.
Final-drive oil
Change 5.8 L on each side.
Swing bearing and motor functions
Re-grease bearing; test travel and swing output and braking.
Undercarriage, pins and structural bolts
Inspect wear and leakage; re-torque track-shoe and major-joint bolts.
Electrical system
Inspect batteries; test alternator and starter output.
Engine oil, oil filter and coolant
Change 21 L oil, replace filter, then drain, flush and refill 25.5 L coolant.
Drive belt and turbocharger
Inspect condition, tension, shaft play and oil leakage.
Hydraulic oil filter and control system
Replace filter; inspect hoses, cylinders and valve response.
Fuel and air filters
Replace all filter elements; drain separator and clean pre-cleaner.
Swing and final-drive oils
Change 5 L swing oil and 5.8 L final-drive oil per side.
Swing bearing and motor functions
Re-grease bearing and test travel/swing output and braking.
Undercarriage, linkage and critical bolts
Inspect wear; re-torque track-shoe and major-joint bolts.
Battery, alternator and starter
Inspect and test the complete starting and charging system.
Hydraulic oil
Change the fluid: 150 L tank capacity / 260 L complete system.
Hydraulic oil filter
Install a genuine Hyundai filter.
Hoses, cylinders and control valve
Inspect condition and leakage; test valve response.
Engine oil and filter
Change 21 L oil and replace filter.
Drive belt, turbocharger and valve clearance
Replace belt; inspect turbo and check/adjust valve clearance.
Engine coolant
Check level and top up as needed.
Fuel and air filters
Replace fuel, outer-air and inner safety filter elements.
Swing bearing and drive oils
Re-grease bearing; check swing-device and final-drive oil levels.
Undercarriage, linkage and bolts
Inspect wear and leakage; re-torque track shoes and major joints.
Electrical system and motor functions
Test batteries, alternator, starter, travel and swing braking.
Warning Alerts & Immediate Actions
A red warning requires immediate shutdown. An amber warning requires corrective action before work continues.
Engine Oil Pressure
Oil pressure is below the safe lubrication threshold.
Immediate action: stop the engine immediately. Do not restart until the oil level and cause of pressure loss are checked.
Risk if ignored: complete and irreversible engine seizure.
Engine Coolant Temperature
The engine is overheating and the overheat-prevention system may reduce engine speed.
Immediate action: stop work, idle briefly, then shut down. Check coolant level and radiator fins for blockage after cooling.
Risk if ignored: warped cylinder head, failed head gasket or seized engine.
Hydraulic Oil Temperature
The hydraulic system is overloaded, the cooler is restricted or the fluid level is low.
Immediate action: stop digging and idle without hydraulic movement. Check the cooler and oil level.
Risk if ignored: pump, cylinder-seal or main-control-valve damage.
Air Cleaner Clogging
Restricted airflow is preventing the engine from receiving sufficient clean intake air.
Immediate action: stop work and inspect the outer air-filter element; clean or replace it before restarting.
Risk if ignored: power loss, black smoke, overheating and turbo or injector damage.
Low Battery
Battery voltage is low or the charging system is underperforming.
Immediate action: inspect the alternator belt and battery-terminal connections.
Risk if ignored: the machine may not restart and deep discharge will shorten battery life.
Low Fuel Level
Fuel has dropped well below the safe level in the 340 L tank.
Immediate action: refuel as soon as practical and do not allow the tank to run dry.
Risk if ignored: sediment can enter the fuel system and damage the injectors.
