A practical guide for construction and infrastructure teams to implement zone-level workman visibility, attendance automation, and movement reporting.

On large EPC and infrastructure projects, teams need to know where every workman is during the shift, not only who entered the gate in the morning.
Attendance records show who came to the project. They do not show where each person is now. On large EPC sites, that gap creates daily operational and safety problems.
A paper register or manual checking may work for 30-40 workers. With 300-500 workers spread across entry gates, work zones, yards, offices, and exit points, that model stops being reliable.
Most sites already use gate registers, biometrics, or ID checks. These systems confirm entry only. After entry, they cannot confirm zone reach, zone duration, assigned supervisor presence, early exits, or last seen position.
For EPC teams, "present/absent" is not enough. Daily decisions require live zone presence and movement history.
These are system problems, not people problems. Site complexity increased, tracking method did not.
The practical model for large EPC sites is zone-level tracking with BLE ID beacons and fixed IoT gateways.
For most workman tracking requirements, EYE Beacon + FMB125 is sufficient and provides attendance, zone visits, movement history, and summaries.
For site engineers, safety officers, and project managers who move across changing locations, GH5200 can be used as an optional personal tracker.
This is an optional add-on based on project requirement. Both approaches run on the same Aether Portal.
GPS is often unreliable in tunnels, shafts, basements, and covered work zones. BLE zone tracking does not depend on GPS. Gateways detect nearby beacons locally and log zone presence. For longer enclosed stretches, additional gateways can be placed to maintain coverage continuity.
Aether converts detection events into daily operational clarity:
| Report | What the team checks |
|---|---|
| Attendance Report | Entry/exit timing and on-site duration by person. |
| Zone Visit Report | Zone-wise and person-wise time spent by zone. |
| Movement Report | Every entry/exit event with timestamp and zone. |
| Summary Report | Combined daily view of entry, exit, and zone durations. |
| Entry Gate Only | Gate-level in/out checks for daily headcount. |
| Track Report | Movement and last known map position for selected user/time. |
This approach is specifically useful when you need zone-level visibility across multiple active areas, verified assigned-zone presence, reliable live headcount, and audit-ready digital records from one portal.
It is not metre-by-metre consumer GPS tracking. It is operationally reliable zone-level presence and movement visibility designed for EPC execution reality.

The portal shows non-detected users for the day. Beacons can be reassigned quickly, and teams usually keep spare units.
Yes. Worker groups can be registered and filtered separately in portal views and reports.
Yes. Additional gateways can be installed and new zones configured without disrupting existing setup.
After gateway installation and beacon assignment, the system is ready. No app or Wi-Fi dependency for daily operation.
It significantly reduces manual effort through automatic entry/exit and duration records; some projects run both during early rollout.
The system uses strongest and latest signal logic to assign the active zone during overlap conditions.
